Old Business
Overall, the Fair was another great success with increased attendance and volunteers.
The children’s events on Friday evening, bouncy castles, and Heather’s Pretty Party
was a great success.
Car show the number of entries were down as in the past years. Perhaps need to up
the advertising.
The Gymkhana had approximately 40 horses and riders. In future if the Gymkhana is
sanctioned by MGRA rules will need to be posted on the website before hand. As some
riders apparently did not follow the dress code set out by MGRA.
Connie Bergman stated did not get list of volunteers, therefore was confused as to who
did what. Names of volunteers and times that they could volunteer, were given to Gail
Campbell by text and email. With confirmation that she got them. It was up to Gail and
Connie to assign the duties.
We need to purchase long water hose for the horse ring. We were looking for a hose
Saturday morning. Had to borrow from Ninette Community Place.
Cattle show went over really well. Future perhaps start the grooming classes at 10:30.
Attendance for the cattle show was up as well with over 30 entries.
Beer Garden was profitable. We need to get the cooler purchased in the spring
checked as it could not keep drinks cool, perhaps need freon.
Food truck at peak times was a half hour wait and the donut truck was a great success.
The Ag Olympics was huge success and at the time it was on there was hardly anyone
in the beer gardens. Next year we should look for sponsorship for this event.
Entertainers all were very good, but perhaps next time only have one headliner on
Saturday.
Garbage collection is a concern need someone or system that can be put on the
grounds so that the racoons can not get into it.
Canada Day would be nice to have more activities.
New Business
Bryan Podworny was contacted by someone who would like to host a private gymkhana
event in August. The riding arena will need to be worked up. At this time no volunteers
are needed.
Another idea that should be explored is Barrel Racing as there is no Barrel Racing in
the area.
Rocky Mountain Equipment Ag Society Grant is due end of July. Eva Miller will apply
but is needing further information to complete. We will ask for Cattle Panels, so need
pricing etc.
Meeting adjourned at 9:00 PM
Next meeting September 21st 2025
