RULES: 

1. ABUSE TO ANIMALS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Exhibitors may be asked to leave the arena or  the grounds if found to be abusing animals. Remember that everyone is watching and there is no  toleration. 

2. Stallions must be well behaved and supervised at all times.  

3. Be ready at the arena for classes. As time is always tight, classes will only be held for 5 minutes max for  tack changes. Gate Person must be notified one class prior to tack change. Gate will be closed after 5  minutes. 

4. Age of youth will be calculated by January 1 of the currant calendar year. 

5. PLAS official may measure horses if discrepancy noted. Miniature Horses under 34” at the last hair of  the mane will be described as MINI A SIZE, Miniature Horses over 34” at the last hair of the mane will  be described as MINI B SIZE. 

6. HELMETS are encouraged in all classes. 

7. All animals are the responsibility of their owners and must be properly secured and under control at all  times for the safety of spectators and exhibitors. 

8. The judge or ring steward have the authority to ask an individual to leave the arena if there is a safety  concern. 

9. All exhibitors must cooperate with PLAS directors in regards to parking and barn use. Grounds will be  marked with paint for parking stalls. Water will be provided on grounds. Contact Deanna Spencer if  planning on keeping horses in barn overnight. Stalls must be cleaned out prior to leaving grounds and  manure piled in labeled area at end of the barn. 

10. No more than two entries in any class will be accepted from each exhibitor. Each handler in the arena,  except in family class or championships, must pay an Exhibitor fee of $10. 

11. The judge’s placings will not be protested. Prizes will be handed out for each class and are the  responsibility of the exhibitors after they receive the prize. 

12. PROFANITY AND DISRESPECT TO FELLOW CONTESTANTS, OFFICIALS OR  SPECTATORS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AT ANY TIME.

Miniature Horse Show Classes 

Class 1 Miniature horse shown by a youth, 10 years & under; may be accompanied by an adult.  2 Miniature horse shown by a youth, 11-18 years old; may be accompanied by an adult.  CHAMPION and RESERVE Youth Horse (1st and 2nd placing from class 1 and 2).  

 

YOUTH HORSES SHOWN IN CLASS 1 & 2 CANNOT BE SHOWN IN REGULAR HALTER  CLASSES. 

3 Broodmare with foal at side, 38” and under 

4 foal of currant year, must be shown in halter. 

5 filly, gelding or stallion, Yearling 32” and under 

6 filly, gelding or stallion, Yearling 32-36” 

7 filly, gelding or stallion, 2 year old 33” and under 

8 filly, gelding or stallion, 2 year old 33”-37” 

9 mare or gelding, 3 years and older, MINI A SIZE 

10 mare or gelding, 3 years and older, MINI B SIZE 

11 stallion, 3 years and older 38” and under 

12 western stock mare or gelding 3 years and older, MINI A SIZE 

13 western stock mare or gelding 3 years and older MINI B SIZE 

CHAMPION and RESERVE MINIATURE HALTER HORSE (1st and 2nd in classes 3-13) 

 

Showmanship Classes – Pattern will be posted by 9 am 

14 Showmanship 19 years and older 

15 Showmanship 11-18 years old 

16 Showmanship 10 and under

 

Miniature Horse Hunter over Jumps 

To be judged not on speed but on form over jump (max height 24”) and steady cadence of travel. 17 Handler 19 and older 

18 Handler 18 years and under

Family/Costume Classes – no fee – prizes for all 

19 Family Halter Classes – 3 horses owned by one family  

20 Costume Class  

 

Classic/Western Country Pleasure Driving  

No cross entry to Open Country Pleasure 

21 MINI A SIZE driven by 19 and older 

22 MINI A SIZE driven by 11-18 year old. May be accompanied by an adult. 

23 MINI A SIZE driven by 10 and under. MUST be accompanied by an adult.

24 MINI B SIZE driven by 19 and older 

25 MINI B SIZE driven by 11-18 years old. May be accompanied by an adult.

26 MINI B SIZE driven by 10 and under. MUST be accompanied by an adult. 

 

REINSMANSHIP – Best Lady or Gentleman Driver 

Each turnout will be required to do a small pattern that will be posted to show their skills driving alone  as well as skills driving on the rail.  

27 19 years and older 

28 11-18 years old – May be accompanied by an adult. 

29 10 years and under – MUST be accompanied by an adult. 

 

OPEN COUNTRY PLEASURE HORSE 

NO cross entries to Classic/Western Driving 

30 MINI A SIZE driven by 19 and older 

31 MINI A SIZE driven by 11-18 year old. May be accompanied by an adult.

32 MINI A SIZE driven by 10 years and under. MUST be accompanied by an adult.

33 MINI B SIZE driven by 19 years and older 

34 MINI B SIZE driven by 11-18 year old. May be accompanied by an adult.

35 MINI B SIZE driven by 10 and under. MUST be accompanied by an adult. 

 

Carriage and Hitch Classes 

36 Open Carriage Driving 38” and under, all ages. Boot to be removed from cart. No over checks  allowed. Apron or Lap blanket must be worn. Fancy hats encouraged. 

37 Team or Tandem or multiples of Miniatures – all sizes, hooked to suitable two or four wheel  vehicle. 

 

Roadster  

To be shown to a roadster bike or appropriate two wheel cart. Drivers to wear Roadster Silks.

38 MINI A SIZE driven by 19 years and older 

39 MINI A SIZE driven by youth under 18 years old HELMET REQUIRED

40 MINI B SIZE driven by 19 years and older 

41 MINI B SIZE driven by youth under 18 years old. HELMET REQUIRED

 

Halter Obstacle – pattern to be posted by 9am
